Solid 14K Gold

What it is: Pure gold mixed with small amounts of alloy metals (like copper or silver) for durability.

Quality: The most durable and valuable option.

Look & Feel: Rich, lasting shine. Doesn’t fade or tarnish.

Best for: Heirloom pieces, special milestones, and daily wear.

Markings: 10k, 14k, 18k, 24k.

Gold-Filled

What it is: A thick layer of solid gold mechanically bonded to a base metal (usually brass).

Quality: Much more durable than plating. Won’t rub off easily.

Look & Feel: Looks and wears like solid gold.

Best for: Everyday jewelry at a more affordable price.

Longevity: Can last decades with proper care.

Gold Vermeil

What it is: Sterling silver base coated with a thick layer of gold (at least 2.5 microns, ours is 3 microns).

Quality: Higher-end than plating; hypoallergenic.

Look & Feel: Luxurious gold finish with a sterling silver core.

Best for: Fashion lovers who want both beauty and quality.

Longevity: Lasts years with care, but gentler than gold-filled.

14K Gold Plated

What it is: A very thin layer of gold applied over 925 Sterling Silver

Quality: Most affordable, but gold can wear off with time.

Look & Feel: Shiny, trendy, budget-friendly.

Best for: Fun, seasonal, or occasional pieces.

Longevity: Months to years depending on wear & care.
